HENDERSON, KY (WFIE) - Two Henderson organizations are teaming up to help those in need over the holiday.
Downtown Henderson Partnership and the Volunteer and Information Center are having a Thanksgiving Food Drive.
Downtown businesses are asked to drop off Thanksgiving dinner items like canned vegetables, boxed stuffing and pasta.
Or, a business can call the Volunteer and Information Center and they will drop off to you empty boxes for your business to collect the items.
"We're actually competing with the DHP to see who can raise the most canned goods, it's a friendly competition," explains Megan Mortis. "We do want to reach as many folks as possible here in Henderson that need food this Thanksgiving and holiday season."
All items will be dropped off after November 20 to local food banks.
Monetary donations will be given to the local food banks too.
