Evansville mayoral candidates profile (part 3/3): Steve Wozniak

Steve Wozniak says he's Independent, politically and financially.

"I don't have anybody telling me, whether it's corporate donors or political party people, what I need to say and what I don't need to say," said Wozniak.

Wozniak is a UE graduate and longtime Evansville resident.  He is an inventor.

One of his creations…a fan for wheelchairs.

He says he wants to use that kind of creativity to establish an angel investment group to stimulate the development of new business.

“That will fund innovators and inventors from all over the globe to come to Evansville,” adds Wozniak.

Wozniak also plans to build a roundabout at the intersection of Fulton and Ohio Street, in order to manage the incoming downtown traffic flow more efficiently.

If you've never heard of Wozniak, it's because he just joined the race in July.  But he says, it's all by design.

"The last 20 days of an election, is when people really start looking at a candidate,” Wozniak said.

“Now that we are here at the last leg of the election, people are going to hear my ideas and they are going to recognize that we need a visionary for the City of Evansville that has problem solving skills."

A technique that he hopes pays off on November 3rd.
