OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) - Around 100 students from Western Kentucky took a trip to learn about careers on the Ohio River.
Students from Owensboro, Owensboro Catholic, and Hancock County took a tour of the Riverport Authority and Yager Materials in Owensboro.
Organizers say the event is a great way to expose students to the work environment and see the profession up close.
"I think it's a good career because it has good opportunities and has great pay for pretty much anybody that can come and work for them," said Will James, an Owensboro Catholic High School student.
The students also gathered at the Owensboro Museum of Science and History for a career fair featuring other local businesses.
