Evansville 'dog lover' sentenced in arson case

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - An Evansville man was sentenced in an arson case on Monday.

31-year-old Shaun Mitchell was ordered to serve three years in prison.

Evansville Police say Shaun Mitchell called and confessed to setting a fire after a 13-hour standoff near an east Evansville doggy daycare.

Mitchell told police he's a dog lover and saw the house on his way home from a bar and decided to set it on fire.

Mitchell was originally charged with burglary and arson.
