Huntingburg homeowners show support for police department

HUNTINGBURG, IN (WFIE) -

Huntingburg homeowners are showing their support for the city's police department.

A blue line has been painted on the curb in front of at least two homes in the city.

The line means the house is willing to support the police in any way they can, like providing shelter or even back up.

Huntingburg's Assistant Police Chief Ronnie Bowman says normally this happens in bigger communities so to see it here is comforting.

“There is a trend in law enforcement right now…there’s kind of a bad vibe among some people,” he said.  “But that lets us know the people of the community back what we are doing and stand behind us.”

Bowman expects more homeowners to add the lines on their curbs throughout the city.
