EAST LANSING, MI (AP) - The Purdue Boilermakers put quite the scare into number-two ranked Michigan State today, staging a huge second-half comeback, before falling just short, 24-21. Down 21-0 at halftime, the Boilers made it interesting, thanks in part to Markell Jones, who scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter. The Purdues cut it to 21-14, with Jones' 68 yard TD run, and then after an MSU field goal, Jones hit paydirt again, to make it 24-21. After holding on defense, they got the ball back with over 3 minutes left, and advanced to near midfield, before turning it over on downs. Michigan State stays unbeaten, while the Boilers drop to 1-4.
