Taking a Stand: Supporting Law Enforcement

Local communities are continuing to show their support for law enforcement.

For example, Mt. Carmel was "glowing blue" on Wednesday.

Sandy Keneipp saw the idea on Facebook. Sandy and a group of volunteers put up ribbons, blue lines, balloons and neon lights to show support for local law enforcement.

In Owensboro, Anthony Cobb, a local pastor, asked people to wear blue on Wednesday.

I applaud the efforts of Sandy and Anthony and realize that are many more in the area that feel the same way as they do about supporting local law enforcement.

Over the past year, officers have endured their share of negative news reports.

Ask yourself this question:  What would our community look like if it wasn't for law enforcement officers protecting us from those who want to commit crimes and acts of violence?

This week should be a reminder that we should all thank these men and women who put their lives on the line to ensure our safety.
