Lions Club prepares for Arts and Crafts Festival in Henderson

HENDERSON, KY (WFIE) -

The Henderson Lions Club is gearing up for the 43rd annual Arts and Crafts Festival.

They’ve made some changes and hope the festival will be more of a community event.

The Lions Club took over the festival in May.

It was originally put on by the Green River Area Development District, or GRADD.

The Lions Club hopes to improve the festival by adding arts and crafts booths, live music and even a charity golf scramble.

Myrle Partridge says members had to ponder the decision before they accepted this huge responsibility.  But she knows they’ll get the job done.

"We felt like we had the support of our members, members who indicated to us that they supported us and that we could make it a success.” said Partridge.  “That was probably the deciding factor in ‘let’s do it but let’s do it successfully’ and that's what we intend to do."

The event will be held Saturday and Sunday at Audubon State Park.
