PRINCETON, KY (WFIE/WPSD) - One person is dead and another hospitalized after a shooting at the ConAgra Foods plant in Princeton, Kentucky.

Officers responded to the scene around 12:14 p.m. Wednesday. The police department says 37-year-old Nellie Renee Nichols, of Dawson Springs, went to the factory to confront her mother.

Police say the two were arguing when Nichols fired a semi-automatic pistol.

A bullet struck a male bystander in the hand. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Officers say Nichols would later turn the gun on herself. She was pronounced dead at the hospital.

A statement from ConAgra said the company is aware of "an incident" outside of its plant involving three people. The statement said the people were not employees and the plant has been secured. ConAgra said it is working with local police, who are investigating.

According to its website, ConAgra Foods, Inc. produces packaged foods. Details about the Princeton plant weren't immediately available.
