1,100 volunteers to take part in United Way Day of Caring

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

United Way of Southwestern Indiana will hold their 22nd Annual Day of Caring Friday, Sept. 11.

Day of Caring is the kick-off to the 2015 United Way Campaign which runs through Dec. 11, 2015.  

Over 1,100 volunteers from local businesses will spend the day helping over 65 local agencies.  Projects include chores for elderly clients, landscaping,
troubleshooting data bases, building a gazebo, spending time in preschool classrooms, painting and more.

The event will begin with a 7:00 a.m. breakfast at Old National Events Plaza.  

The 2015 event is sponsored by Old National Bank, St. Mary's, FC Tucker Emgee Realtors, Deaconess, Harding, Shymanski & Company, Atlas World Group, Shelter Moving and Storage, Koch Foundation and Shoe Carnival.
