Hear the stories that shaped Henderson

Hear the stories that shaped Henderson

HENDERSON, KY (WFIE) - You can watch history come "alive" this weekend in Henderson.

The fifth annual Fernwood Cemetery tour is being led by the Depot Community Room this Saturday.

The hour-and-a-half tour will take you through the oldest city-run cemetery in Henderson.

A local historian and actors will be telling the stories of those buried there.

Donna Spencer from the Depot Community Room says people are always shocked to hear the hidden stories that shape Henderson.

"Well they should expect a tour that will give them insight on the people that lived here before them and the people that were actually responsible for growing Henderson into a lovely city," said Spencer.  "Henderson was incorporated in 1797 so we have a lot of history."

Tours will be conducted at 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for students.

All of the money goes to the restoration fund for the cemetery.
