Two airlifted after head-on collision in Hopkins Co.

Two people were airlifted after a head-on collision in Hopkins County.

It happened early Monday on Manitou Road near Antioch Road.

Deputies say 27-year-old Michael J. Pingleton of Madisonville was headed north in a Pontiac G8 when his tires dropped off the shoulder of the roadway.

As Pingleton tried to bring his vehicle back onto the roadway, he lost control.

Deputies say Pingleton’s vehicle crossed the center line and entered the southbound lane of travel.

His vehicle then struck a Honda Civic, head-on.

Pingleton was transported by PHI to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville for treatment.

Deputies say he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.

The driver of the Civic, 48-year-old Troy O. Clark of Madisonville, was transported to Baptist Health Madisonville for treatment.

Deputies say Clark’s passenger, 62-year-old Mickie A. Quatro of Madisonville, was flown to St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville.
