EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - The playground at Wesselman Park is now equipped for kids with disabilities.
Mayor Winnecke, officials from Ronald McDonald House Charities, the Parks Foundation and Deaconess Riley Children's Services were there for the presentation.
The playground is now compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
And coming this fall, new equipment geared for those over age 6.
One mom says she's glad the new equipment will be enjoyed by all children.
"Especially if there is a handicapped child that needs a special piece of equipment just to be able to swing," said Jackie Cartwright. "I think that is a great idea."
The ribbon cutting was postponed after the park was vandalized earlier in the year.
