OHIO CO., KY (WFIE) - The Ohio County Fiscal Court is spending $5,000 to fix a broken communications tower.
Officials with the Ohio County Sheriff's Office say they've been having radio issues every time it rains.
When officials had someone look at the tower, they found a broken antenna.
It let rain into the co-axial cables and caused a disruption.
Sheriff Tracy Beatty says those signal disruptions could've been a real problem for deputies if they were in danger.
"We're very appreciative of our court and judge for supporting us here in our law enforcement and it appears that they are concerned with our officer's safety just as well as I am," said Sheriff Beatty.
Beatty says the money will go towards replacing almost 300-feet of the co-ax cable, as well as replacing part of the antenna.
