HENDERSON, KY (WFIE) - Uniforms are the norm in private schools, but it's a brand new concept for one public school in Henderson.
Parents say it's a huge time saver, choosing between a few uniforms pieces instead of a regular wardrobe. And it actually costs them less.
"Oh, it was a huge cost saver. You didn't have to go shop, you could actually just get it online, it saved gas and time. It was more feasible and enjoyable for everybody," said SMS parent Jill Goldsberry.
"I think it makes our school look better. It makes us look like we are a distinguished school," said Tanor Grant, SMS 7th grader.
South Middle School is the only one in the Henderson District to require uniforms, and one of just a few public schools in the Tri-State.
