Holiday Foods to receive tax abatement from Ft. Branch to reopen

FORT BRANCH, IN (WFIE) - Holiday Foods intends to rebuild in Fort Branch.

Town Council members had a special meeting Wednesday to establish a "Department of Economic Development."

President Tom Wallace says it's part of the legal process required to give Holiday Foods a 10-year tax abatement.

Council members already gave the company a verbal commitment.

The next step -- they must hold a public hearing.

That'll be at 5:30 p.m. on September 9.
