Crews demolish Owensboro’s first strip mall

OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) -

A bit of retail-history - coming down in Owensboro.

Crews are demolishing Owensboro's first strip mall near the intersection of West Parrish and Werner Avenue. It was 60 years old.

The owners say several potential buyers passed on the property because it cost too much to renovate or tear down the building.

They're hoping the land will be more attractive to a developer with the structure gone.
