EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - Pink took over Buffalo Wild Wings Wednesday night to encourage the community to join the fight against cancer.
A first for the Tri-State Susan G. Komen affiliate, volunteers and staff members manned a table at the westside restaurant as part of "happy hour."
Offering free appetizers, they asked customers to register for the race, consider making a donation or sign up to volunteer.
For organizers, it was about spreading the word and making sure people know what Komen is all about.
"I think everybody has someone that they know that has been affected by breast cancer, whether it's your mother, your sister or friend, and so it's so important to have people come out and you know, help us. We couldn't do the race without volunteers. We have over 10,000 people that register for the race every year, and that is not a one person job," Amanda Green, Special Events Coordinator, says.
Evansville's Race for the Cure is Sunday, September 27.
