Wabash Co. Health Dept. collecting dead birds for West Nile testing

WABASH CO., IL (WFIE) -

The Wabash County Health Department needs your help in the fight against the West Nile Virus.

They're collecting dead birds to send to state health officials for West Nile testing.

So if you happen to see a dead bird - that isn't decomposing and doesn't appear hurt -- call the health department.

No confirmed cases of the virus have been reported in the area.

    The Evansville Police Department says for this year's trip, they plan to take 54 kids from four schools in the Evansville area to Disney World, but it's not cheap.
