Owensboro to end election day alcohol sales?

OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) - The Owensboro City Commission is looking at ending the ban on alcohol sales on election days.

A new ordinance will have its first reading Tuesday night.

Alcohol cannot currently be sold at restaurants and other businesses on primary or regular election days.

Assistant City Attorney, Steve Lynn, says the state decided in 2013 to allow local governments to determine whether or not to sell alcohol on those days.
