EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - AMC Evansville 16 is offering a "calmer" movie experience for children with autism.
In partnership with the Autism Society, the west-side theatre is showing 'sensory-friendly films'. They keep the house lights on, keep the sound low, and make it a more comfortable atmosphere.
Children are free to get up, move around, talk, and laugh. Parents don't have to worry if they're kids are making too much noise, like in a regular movie setting.
The movies usually run once a month on Saturdays.
The next one will be on Saturday, July 17 at 10 a.m. and will be the new film, Minions.
