Scoreboards at new sports complex to be replaced

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - The Board of Commissioners for the Evansville Convention and Visitors Bureau has decided to replace the scoreboards at the new Deaconess Sports Park.

The decision was made at a Wednesday board meeting.

Eight new scoreboards will be ordered to replace the existing ones that some say are not adequate.

The current scoreboards were designed for softball.  But officials say baseball games will also take place on the same fields.

No word on how much the new scoreboards will cost.

The CVB is currently rebidding and hopes to have the scoreboards in place before this season is over.

The Sports Park opened last May.
