HENDERSON CO., KY (WFIE) - The Humane Society of Henderson County is now accepting applications for the position of Animal Control Officer.
This comes just a few weeks after the Henderson Fiscal Court's 2015-2016 budget cut funding for the Humane Society.
Officials say they're losing 25 percent of their funds, or $30,000, from the previous year.
Most of that goes directly to animal control, including the animal control officers' salaries.
Job requirements include working directly with the public, law enforcement, and the judicial system, kennel maintenance, animal care, and day to day shelter operations.
Applicants must have a clean criminal background, be a resident of Henderson County, and have a valid driver's license.
