HENDERSON, KY (WFIE) - Henderson Police are investigating an overnight stabbing and beating.

Police say it happened around 9:45 p.m. Sunday, near the corner of Sutton Drive and Wilson Drive.

Officers say 22-year-old Marcus Bailey suffered multiple stab wounds in his arms and side.

Bailey told police he was stabbed at the street corner by a man that he didn't know.

"I was getting dropped off at the corner right there and a man approached me and told me he had a knife and I stepped back and he started stabbing me in several places," Bailey told us.

"I pushed him down and took off running and a truck met me at the stop sign here at the corner and said I need to go to the hospital and I told them no and came home and then the police came and got me."

Investigators also found 50-year-old William Overton on Wilson Drive.

Police say Overton was lying in his front yard with multiple blunt force injuries to his head.

Overton was taken to Methodist Hospital and airlifted to a hospital in Indianapolis.  There's no word on his condition.

Bailey was transported to Methodist Hospital and released on Monday morning.
