GIBSON CO., IN (WFIE) - Gibson County commissioners are hoping to move forward with safety improvements to the courthouse clock tower.
Commission president Steve Bottoms says he's waiting to hear back from contractors who are working on quotes.
He says the tower needs a few upgrades like installing a new ladder, to continue to remain compliant with OSHA.
Bottoms says they'll also ask contractors for additional quotes to install other equipment needed to string the traditional Christmas lights from the tower.
These quotes will be presented to the county council.
If approved, they hope to start construction in late fall or early winter.
