DUBOIS CO., IN (WFIE) -

A Huntingburg woman is jailed after an accident with some unusual circumstances.

The Dubois County Sheriff's Office got a call about a crash on County Road 350 and 100 South in Jasper a little before midnight on Thursday.

Deputies say Shannon Stuckey hit a county highway gate meant to keep people from driving on Old Huntingburg Road, then went through a second gate, before her SUV ended up in a ditch.

Deputies found Stuckey a little distance away from the accident. They say it looked like she'd been trying to get away by swimming in a stream.

The 33-year-old is facing charges of OWI and leaving the scene.
