Over 200 EVSC students receive new bicycles

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - More than 200 EVSC students are the proud owners of new bicycles.

Students at the Ivy Tech Public Safety Academy had a chance to have their name drawn and leave with a new bicycle.

Two of the bikes given out were adaptive bicycles, for students who are physically unable to ride a normal bicycle.

The EVSC students who demonstrated good attendance, good behavior, and a good attitude in camp were rewarded with the chance to win the bikes.

"Focus on attendance, attitude, and behavior, and frankly, as I mentioned to the kids in my talk, it's a foundation for success not just for family and school, but for all of life," says Jonathan Weinzapfel, Ivy Tech Community College Chancellor.

Gerling Law had new helmets adjusted for each bicycle winner to ensure they are safe on their new rides.
