Evansville Rescue Mission uses new route for donations

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - The Evansville Rescue Mission is reaching out in a way they never have in hopes to get more undergarment donations.

Chris-Michael Morrison says A Go Fund Me page was recently set up.

President Tracy Gorman came up with the idea after using Facebook as the main way to reach out. Morrison says they wanted to try a fresh route to hopefully reach bigger groups of people.

"We're excited to know we have a goal in mind which is $1,000 and because this is kind of a new avenue of fundraising for us, we will try it out and see what happens," Morrison says.

Morrison says they had well over 100 men stay at the shelter Monday night and undergarments are always an item they need.
