Waverly residents surveyed for potential fire station grant

UNION CO., KY (WFIE) -

Green River Area Development District officials surveyed people in Waverly Friday.

Through June, GRADD officials are going door-to-door to figure out if the community is eligible for grant money to build a new fire station.

If they can make it happen, the city could get up to $500,000 to replace the station.

Right now, the station is aging and is only big enough to house one of their two fire trucks.

GRADD officials could have an answer on the grant by next spring.
