New device to help handicapped guests ride coasters at Holiday World

SANTA CLAUS, IN (WFIE) -

Holiday World and Splashin' Safari has a new device to help handicapped guests ride their wooden roller coasters.

The park helped develop the transfer step with the manufacturer of the coaster trains.

Riders who need help getting in will no longer have to be lifted in by their family.

Holiday World officials tell us if guests don't want to use the step, they don't have to.

The step is available at all the wooden roller coasters. Guests riding the new steel coaster Thunderbird will have to be lifted into the train. Holiday World workers can assist in lifting into Thunderbird.
