4th and Main restaurant scrapped; funds being redirected to old Greyhound terminal

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

A change in plans for Evansville's Main Course Restaurant Challenge.

Originally, the challenge called for a restaurant to open at the corner of Fourth and Main downtown.

The winning restaurant concept was to receive cash and in-kind services economic development incentive package.

The Southwest Indiana Chamber Downtown Alliance says the contest winner has decided to focus on expanding their current business and has forfeited the incentives [You may want to read - Cantina del Oscar wins Main Course Restaurant Challenge]

The Restaurant Challenge committee says it will now provide financial resources to support an eatery opening in the old Greyhound bus terminal in downtown Evansville.

Funds will be donated to Indiana Landmarks, which currently owns the Greyhound building. to get the space ready for a restaurant or other needs to be determined during lease negotiations.
