Teachers Manufacturing Bootcamp accepting applications

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

Applications are currently being accepted from educators to participate in the Alcoa Foundation Teacher's Manufacturing Bootcamp.

It's a free program that gives graduate-level credit to teachers in Warrick, Posey, Vanderburgh, and Gibson Counties.

The goal is to show teachers what really goes on behind the scenes in the manufacturing industry.

"So the manufacturing environment is one that is very rigorous as far as problem-solving. You think, 'Who doesn't have problems in their day to day work life?' We'll hopefully teach them some skills they can learn to help solve problems and to manage projects," said Jim Beck, Alcoa Warrick Operations.

The Teacher's Manufacturing Bootcamp is a collaboration between the Alcoa Foundation and Grow Southwest Indiana Workforce.

30 teachers will be accepted.
