Stranger pays for Henderson woman's lunch for "being a caring mother"

HENDERSON, KY (WFIE) - A Henderson woman was surprised by a random act of kindness from someone she didn't even know.

After enjoying lunch at Tumbleweed with her son and boyfriend on Sunday, Katy Simcox says she was ready to pay her bill when the server told her it was taken care of.

A lady a few tables over paid for the meal.

When Katy looked up, that lady asked her over so she could talk to her. That's when she told Katy she was happy to see her caring and paying such close attention to her son.

Katy said she told her if she ever needed help, she would be happy to reach out to the right people to help her out from time to time.

She told us she couldn't believe a stranger would go out of their way to help her for just being a loving mother.

"She said, 'More mothers can learn from what you're doing,'" Katy told 14NEWS. "It just really melted my heart."

Katy said the woman wanted to remain anonymous because she was just doing something to help out a caring mother.
