VANDERBURGH CO., IN (WFIE) -

Drivers who use Kansas Road in Vanderburgh County may need to take a different route for the next week.

Starting Thursday, the Vanderburgh County Engineer's Office will close Kansas Road at Green River Road.

Right turns to and from Kansas to Green River will be allowed, but there will be no left turns or through traffic.

Green River will stay open while crews are working on the road.

The engineer's office says it expects to have Kansas Road back open by the end of the day on Thursday, May 7,  although that could be extended if the weather doesn't cooperate.

The closure is part of the Green River Road reconstruction project between Millersburg Road and Kansas Road.
