Girl Scouts honor award winners

It was a big night for the Girl Scouts of Southwest Indiana.

They honored this year's "Girl Award" winners at a dinner at Old National Bank atrium in Downtown Evansville.

The organization gave out gold, silver and bronze awards to the winners who made the biggest impact with their community service projects.

One of the winners says it takes motivation, a lot of teamwork and the willingness to challenge yourself, but the benefits are well worth it.

"Any limits you find are limits you put on yourself, there will always be people out there willing to help you with time, talent, and treasure,” says Anna Kalt, a gold award winner.

“I'd say Girl Scouts has helped prepare me for who I am today and definitely shape me to the person I am and I wouldn't be the same without it.”

Earning this Girl Scout award could lead to college scholarships in the future.
