Evansville Fire Department dedicates new vehicle

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

The Evansville Fire Department dedicated a new vehicle at the Ford Center.

The new rescue squad truck will be kept at Station No. 1 downtown.

It cost just over $300,000. This truck will respond to all types of emergencies and is equipped with a large light tower and the jaws-of-life.

The truck was dedicated in memory of the late Lt. Kip Fussner, who had members of his family at the ceremony.

"I never thought they would do anything like this, said Gary Fussner, Kip's brother. “I've never heard of it, but it just makes me feel good that they dedicated this in his memory."

Lt. Fussner was a 26 year veteran of the Evansville Fire department. He died in December.
