State Street in Newburgh closed for sewer repair

NEWBURGH, IN (WFIE) - State Street between Sharon and Bell Roads in Newburgh is now closed to traffic.

Crews are repairing sewer lines.

Newburgh Police Chief Brett Sprinkle says the sewer line goes down the middle of State Street so it was impossible to keep it open.

There will be access to homes and businesses.

Crews hope to have the work done by the end of next week.
