March of Dimes event adds "Run for Babies"

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

Hundreds of families and business leaders will join together to take part in the March of Dimes first annual Run for Babies Saturday. 

The 5k run begins at 10am at Sunrise Park, home of the Kids Kingdom playground, with the course taking you along Riverside Drive and through downtown Evansville. 

Registration begins at 9 with a fee of $20. 

You can also register online at www.marchforbabies.org

All runners get an official race t-shirt, and race number. 

The Run for Babies will be followed by the annual walking event, the 3 mile March for Babies. 

There will be music and lots of other activities. 14 News Sunrise Anchor Dan Katz will be there to emcee. 

So lace up your running shoes and join us in support of research, prevention and treatment of prematurity, all of which can lead to stronger, healthier babies.
