EVSC to offer full day summer childcare program

Finding childcare during the summer can be difficult for parents, but now there's a new option in Evansville.

EVSC officials tell us they will be offering a full day summer childcare program.

It's called Camp Cruisin' and will be offered at Hebron, Stringtown and Vogel Elementary Schools from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Officials say the program will use a theme each week centered on planned activities, allowing students to use their creativity.

"We've talked to parents about the program who have participated before and the one thing that we keep hearing over and over again is that the kids had a ball…they really loved it,” said Associate Superintendent Dr. Cathlin Gray. “They get to go swimming. They just get to do lots of different things."

The cost for the camp is $90 a week. Students currently attending EVSC Extended Day Centers will have first consideration.
