12-year-old IL boy won ESPN's bracket challenge...but there's a catch

CHICAGO, IL (WGN/CNN) -

A 12-year-old boy from Illinois tied for first in ESPN's men's basketball tournament bracket challenge, thanks to Duke.

Sam Holtz beat out more than 11 million other people, and was supposed to be entered in a drawing with other top finishers to win a $20,000 gift card to Best Buy and a trip to a basketball invitational in Hawaii.

But there's a catch. The winner has to be 18, and Sam used his dad's email to enter.

According to the Chicago Tribune, Sportscenter told Sam Tuesday that he is not eligible for the prize, but offered to let him anchor an episode of the show.
