Indy Zoo officials visit Evansville Thursday

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - Indianapolis Zoo officials paid a visit to the Tri-State Thursday as part of their spring tour.

The zoo has something for everyone like their new koala exhibit, the dolphin viewing dome, the orangutan center, and other close encounters with wildlife.

Zoo spokesperson Carla Knapp says it doesn't matter what zoo you visit, all of them have a lot to offer.

"These are all institutions that are not just wonderful attractions for you, but also educations," she said. "These facilities are also giving back to conservation as well."

The new bear exhibit at Mesker Park Zoo is getting a lot of attention.

The Malayan Sun Bear, also known as Mr. Fong, is the first bear of any kind the zoo has had in over 20 years.
