HUNTINGBURG, IN (WFIE) - Huntingburg has just broken ground on their first project tied to the Stellar Community grants they won.
The old St Joseph Hospital on the city's north side will be transformed into 45 Senior-living apartments.
Developer Miller-Valentine says it will take them about a year to renovate two wings of the old building and add another portion to the building.
There is one other wing that will not be renovated. Officials say the family who owns that is still trying to sell that wing and what it will be developed into.
The $9-million project was one of the reasons the city was able to secure the Stellar designation last year.
