'Cash mob' visits Evansville restaurant

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

A cash mob watch party brought in a big crowd and a big bill at The Pub in Evansville to help the business.

The University of Evansville men's basketball team had a tournament game on the road so the fans went to The Pub. It was a community effort to help a struggling business.

The Pub has been around for 37 years. Owner Larry "Bubbles" Pollack says it's for sale but he doesn't have a buyer. He says the construction on the Lloyd Expressway is hurting his business.

“I haven't been here in the last couple months with the construction but I get here to support Bubbles as often as I can,” said Randy Schulz. “The food is great, great atmosphere, and great service and it's just a great business for Evansville to support.”

There was a cash mob at The Pub back in December. Bubbles says business increased 500% on that day.
