Recognition Ceremony for Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office held a recognition ceremony Monday at the Old National Events Plaza.

Several deputies were honored and with two new deputies were sworn in.

Deputy Robert Hart was honored for his academics at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy,  "It's something we wait for all of our lives. It dreams we sought out that finally came true. It was a long hard road to get here but it's been a lot of fun. A lot of good learning experiences, great time, and now we're ready to start our careers, and just see where the road takes us."

Deputy Justin Chambers says this job is a dream come true, "It's hard to describe. I've come from a law enforcement agency that was a little bit smaller, and I greatly appreciate the time I had there, but I'm looking forward to having the opportunity in a larger jurisdiction,"

The two men who were sworn in officially started working for the VCSO on Monday.
