Icemen trade Frazee to Greenville

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - The Evansville IceMen have added a new defensive presence by acquiring Spencer Humphries in a trade with the Greenville Road Warriors.  Evansville will send Thomas Frazee to Greenville in exchange for Humphries and a player to be named later. Humphries is expected to make his IceMen debut on Tuesday against the Wheeling Nailers.

In his ECHL rookie season, Humphries has netted two goals and passed out 21 assists for the Road Warriors. Humphries currently holds a +15 rating with Greenville.

Humphries posted a career best three assists in a game against Reading on Nov. 29. The British Columbia native finished a remarkable +5 in this contest.

Standing 6'2 and weighing in at 210 pounds, Humphries spent last season overseas playing in the Czech Republic for a KHL franchise and a team in the Czech2 league. He had six goals and five assists in 17 games in the Czech Republic a year ago.

The 22 year-old is no stranger to protecting the net for IceMen goaltenders. Humphries played three season of junior hockey with Chris Driedger as a part of the Tri-City Americans and Calgary Hitmen of the WHL. The Defenseman collected 38 points in each of his final two seasons with the Hitmen and was +47 over his final two seasons of junior hockey.

After being acquired by the IceMen in a trade on Jan. 28 with Fort Wayne, Frazee has scored three goals and racked up seven assists in 16 games with Evansville. He has 15 goals 16 assists in 54 games overall this season.

Frazee leaves Evansville on a high note after scoring the game winning in the IceMen's 2-1 victory over the Wheeling Nailers. He built a four-game point streak in his first four games with Evansville.

The IceMen and Nailers collide again on Tuesday night at the Ford Center as the IceMen wrap up a five-game home stand. The opening face-off will drop at 7:15 p.m.
