Cartoonist inspires students to succeed

Some Daviess County students were entertained and motivated to reach their dreams by cartoonist Duane Abel. Abel, known as the creator of the Zed comic strip encouraged students at Sorgho Elementary School this evening to set goals and work hard to achieve them. The event was apart of family reading night at the school. Abel says it takes four words for ongoing success: work, study, learn, and try. "Make those unattainable goals, work hard for them, and even if you have a dream and you're shooting for the stars and miss...at least you landed on the ceiling. At least you landed on the roof. At least you are closer than you were before," said Abel.  Abel says he gets inspiration from the students and loves being able to motivate them and inspire them to have success.
