Elderly residents in Union Co. can still have access to meals in inclement weather

UNION CO., KY (WFIE) -

Despite inclement weather and dangerous bad roads, home-bound clients and the elderly in Union County are still able to have access to meals.

Every month, Union County Senior Services serve 1,000 meals in their building and they deliver another 1,000 meals to elderly in their homes.

All services were closed Tuesday due to weather. But, if a senior depends on a meal to survive, Senior Services still makes sure no one goes hungry.

"We work with emergency management and local law enforcement, whatever is necessary to make sure that if someone is in need of food in times like this that we can get that to them and make sure they are prepared for what comes ahead," said Melissa Polites, director.

They are in great need at this time of donations for food.

If you can help, contact Union County Senior Services at (270) 389-4550.
