SPENCER CO., IN (WFIE) - A combination of chemicals and cold weather have caused corrosion in the pipes that supply the Town of Chrisney's water.
The system was put in about 20 years ago.
Town Utilities Superintendent John Graham says chlorine damaged the water booster system.
In 2013, they repaired the building that houses the system but didn't repair the controls or pipes.
Graham says now those repairs are needed and they will cost the town about $25,000. He does say the town has the money and will not have to raise rates.
Graham says once they receive the parts, it should take them about a week for the repairs.
