PERRY CO., IN (WFIE) - An attempt to serve an arrest warrant in Cannelton resulted in an additional search warrant and additional charges.
Officers arrived at 310 Washington Street in Cannelton around 5:30 pm Saturday to serve a warrant on James Roy White II of Cannelton.
Troopers say the 42-year-old White was wanted by Perry County for failing to appear on previous charges for possessing marijuana, domestic battery and warrant through Breckenridge County, Kentucky.
Officers say they smelled burnt marijuana when they entered the home.
They obtained a search warrant and found drug paraphernalia and baggies containing about 48 grams of marijuana.
White was arrested on three outstanding warrants and faces a total of 13 charges.
37-year old Tara Whistle of Cannelton and a young boy were also in the home when troopers arrived.
Whistle was taken into custody and faces five separate drug charges.
The Department of Child Services took custody of the child.
