OHIO CO., KY (WFIE) - 54 dogs were rescued from a trailer home in Ohio County, Kentucky.
Animal Rescue Corps, the Ohio County Sheriff's Office and Ohio County Animal Control assisted in the rescue on Friday.
Ohio County Animal Control told us the owner was present at the time and that they are not going to press charges.
They say it wasn't an issue of neglect but rather that there were just too many dogs for the elderly woman to take care of. She will not be living on the property anymore and the home is being demolished.
Animal Rescue Corps took all of the dogs to an emergency shelter that was set up in Lebanon, Tennessee.
The organization will care for the dogs until they are placed with shelter and rescue organizations that will adopt them into homes.
ARC will publish its list of shelter and rescue placement partners on its Facebook page once the dogs are transferred to these groups and are available to foster or adopt.
